Our Story
Theatre 62 has been a cornerstone of our community's cultural life for over six decades. Founded in 1962 by a group of passionate theatre enthusiasts, we've grown from humble beginnings into a vibrant amateur dramatics society with our own intimate 80-seat venue.
Our theatre is more than just a building - it's a place where stories come to life, where friendships are forged, and where anyone can discover their creative potential. Whether you're an experienced performer or have never set foot on a stage, Theatre 62 welcomes you with open arms.
We produce five shows each year, running Monday to Friday evenings with Saturday and Sunday matinees. Over the decades, we've staged hundreds of productions spanning every genre - from classic Shakespeare to contemporary drama, from side-splitting comedies to thought-provoking new works. Each production is brought to life by our dedicated volunteers who give their time, talent, and energy to create unforgettable theatrical experiences.
